So, I don't get car shows. I really don't. It seems everytime we have one here, there is a photo assignment to shoot it, but really they make very boring art. Its often just people in lawn chairs haging out in a parking lot around a bunch of, well, cars. Some are cool, yes, but for the most part I have to ask, "Who cares?" How many crappy 15-year-old Hondas with ugly modifications, neon lights and subwoofers that rattle your very skull can to stand to look at. And I ask, why would you pay to look at them? People charge money to get in to these things. I was being paid to shoot photos of people looking at them and I could barely stand it. I just don't get it. And I'm a guy. A guy who likes cars (see previous post). Anyone have an opinion or better yet, an explanation of this phenomenon?
