Dang it. 3/11/2004 11:12:00 AM So, today I realized just how little I really understand about the web. Specifically, I suck at putting things on the web. If it weren't for blogger making it so easy, I wouldn't even have this site. No. Really. Here's the thing. I am jealous, you see. Dave, Jamie, Peeg -- they all have these cool photo gallery pages linked to their blogs. OK quick quiz. Q.What does will do professionally? A. Take freakin' pictures! Q. Can he post photos on the web? A. No! He can't figure out how! Yeah. That's about right. Since I'm paying Clemson this many monies $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to give myself a lot more work than I'm used to, they provide me with web space. Ad free. A decent amount of it too. So today, I tried to figure out how to utilize this "web space." I went to the "FAQ" page on the "IT" page of Clemson's web site. I found the question I wanted to ask. I found the answer. Or rather, what some friggin techno geek might think of as an answer (no offense, Dave, Jamie, or Peeg or anyone else who understands this stuff). Needless to say, I didn't understand a bit of it. I tried to console myself by sayaing, "I bet they don't know the percentages of CMYK in the average caucasions skin tones," but that didn't help. Yes, Dave I know you know both web speak and CMYK values. Salt! Ow! Basically it could have been written in Swahili and I'd have understood it better. I know that somewhere I have space on a Novell thingy and something about U: drives and index.somthingorothers and lots of these: <<>>><<><><><<>><><<><><><><. I don't know what to do. If anyone would care to explain this stuff to me, that'd be great. The whole thing that got this started is this: Meghan and I are buying a new car from Geoffrey. Well, new to us. It's a 2002 Suburu Forester. Loaded, baby. SWEET. It's not a Mini but it has AWD and a 6 disk in dash CD changer, thankyou. It also boasts defrosters on the windshield wipers and secret compartments. Oh, and did I mention the sunroof you could eject a 400-lb man through? Yeah, so Peeg is hooking us up. I wanted to post one of the photos he sent me of the car (you know, peeg, with "us" in the car) but can't figure out how. Maybe later. Or maybe Peeg can help me out here. See.
