Meghan is back. Her grandmother underwent the angioplasty (I’m pretty sure that is spelled wrong) and came through great. She has been moved from the regular hospital to a rehab hospital now. She is apparently joking and being her old self again.

This next bit of the Daily Grind will be dedicated to making my brother Da Peeg jealous and sad he’s not in S.C. anymore. Saturday Meghan and I had quite the adventure. We got up at 5 a.m. got dressed and drove to Long Creek, S.C. up in the mountains. There we went to the Chatooga River. For what purpose you may ask? Simple, my friend, white water rafting. Oh yes. We went down section 3 of the Chattooga. It was a blast. The river is a little shallow right now due to a 4-year drought we’ve had here so we got stuck a pretty good bit. Over all, though, it was amazing. It is so beautiful. It’s totally undisturbed and protected by Federal legislation. We went through several class 4-6 rapids including one called Bull Sluice. There were a bunch of boats in our group, each with a guide. Ours was one of the last to go through the sluice. Several boats lost their guides on the way down (there is one part where you go completely vertical). Of course the boat that I was in (Meghan and I were up front) somehow got turned around and we were the only ones to go through the vertical section of Bull Sluice backwards. They post a photographer there on the rocks to shoot people as they go through and show a little slide show after the trip is over (and attempt to sell you photos). Our photo is of the back of all our heads as we are gripping for dear life totally vertical and the wrong way. Man what a rush.

After our white water adventure, we stopped at Sweet Treats, a little shop outside of Walhalla with homemade ice cream and candies. Oh yes. Peeg knows what I’m talking about.

I’m back at work today after a wonderful 4 days off in a row. Those are rare in photo. Now I just have to work 3 days and I get another 4 off for my sister’s wedding. My sister is getting married this Saturday. Wow.

More later.
