So, yeah. I was thinking "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits off of the Brothers in Arms album (good going, Donna!). On which, of course Sting of the Police guest starred or sang or whatever. Yes. Of course, after reading some of the other suggestions posted, I wonder if it is the coolest EVER, but I still think its pretty freakin awesome. Everything builds and builds and builds until...Mark Knopfler's guitar is out there all by its lonesome. Oh yesssss. So timeless. Man he's a good guitarist. And remember the video? Sure to us now it looks like scary block head guys stealing chairs, but back in the day it was supa cool. One of the first things to employ so much computer animation. I could have done without the glow in the dark headbands, but no one asked me really. I was, after all, still in elementary school. Hmm. 8/28/2003 08:50:00 AM Tuesday, August 26, 2003 You can know someone since you were twelve, date them through most of college and be married to them for more than five years and still learn something new. Tonight over dinner at Chili's, my wife said something that I couldn't believe. She has never eaten a vending machine sandwich. NEVER. I don't know how this is possible. As many of you know, we had a long distance relationship thing going on for a while. I must say that in my travels to and from Kentucky, I took part in many (probably too many) vending machine sandwiches. I've eaten them at work. I used to get them all the time in college. Meghan, on the other hand, managed to navigate live avoiding any form of vending machine sandwichery. Amazing. She did point out that she is not a fan of processed meat, and is very choosy about what sort of egg salad or pimento cheese she will eat. This, obviously, wipes out most of your choices in the vending machine sandwich area. I told her that I thought guys were more likely to eat such delights. She said that she was going to take a poll tomorrow of the teachers at the lunch table, so we will see. Speaking of polls, I'd like to take one myself. I want to know what you think is the coolest beginning to a rock song EVER. I know my answer. Meghan knows it too because I blast it everytime it comes on the radio. Now, this is just coolest beginning here, people. Don't take into consideration the rest of the song (though I really like the whole song that I think has the coolest beginning, but even with out the rest of the song it would still be the absolute coolest in my opinion). Please, if you have the time to spare, post your response in the comments. I shall reveal my choice in the next post.
