So, yeah, school has started. It's been busy but great. The students this year seem like they'll be a good group. Yearbook, too, looks like a good staff.

When I came home from school today, Meghan was in her bathroom getting ready to go somewhere (I didn't know where). When I looked inquizative, she informed me that we were having dinner with James Bodine. You may (if you are a family member and remember the Sacred Heart days) remember him better as Jamie Bodine. He married a girl named Jamie and now goes by James. I literally cannot remember the last time I saw him. To say it's been 20 years would not be an exaggeration.

He took Meghan, Liam and I out to dinner and we talked forever. He reminded me of things I had long forgotten, such as "The List." This was a list that the 7th grade boys at Sacred Heart made ranking the 7th grade girls in terms of hottness. It was quite scandalous at the time. Girls wanted to know where they were on the list. Meghan, if memory serves, got quite angry at me for participating in its creation. James said he remembered her chewing us all out for "degrading women." There were other things I hadn't thought of for years, and names, too. Names like Trey Bregnard and Fitz Kid. It was great to talk to him. He's recently retired from the Air Force and now works for Catapillar (you should have seen Liam's face when I told him he worked for the company that makes "dirt trucks"). He's based in Atlanta but will be traveling to Greenville at least once a month, so hopefully we'll get to hang out with him more. For Da Peeg, who I think was in the same grade as Jamie's brother Tommy, Tommy is now in the Navy as an aviator. I filled him in on where everyone is and he was glad to hear you're all doing so well.

And now for something completely different:

All I can say is, "It's about time."

And maybe "It's a good thing our Dad doesn't have an iPod."
