My wife ROCKS! My family ROCKS! My friends ROCK! Thanks to all of them I had an awesome 30th birthday. I wasn't really looking forward to it, but when I came home from work on Friday, I walked in the door to my kitchen and saw a ton of fried chicken and beer. Hmm, I wondered, why all the food? I soon found out as I rounded the corner. A whole group of people, family and friends were waiting for me and shouted the obligatory, SURPRISE! Jon Solomon even game me a taste of my own medicine, taking a photo of my surprised face. (Well, I was thinking man, I'm surprised along with, ok, don't drop you cameras.) If I had dropped the cameras, you see, I'd have had to take out Emily and Ian since they too were there, and, being the only paper employees in attendence at the time, would know what really happened to my cameras. Ian is management, you know. They would have used the "chip" to get the truth out of him. Just kidding, Ian. Not only were Jon and his wife Mandy there, along with Emily and Ian, but my parents, two youngest brothers, and, all the way from D.C. were Stacy and Geoffrey. Later that night, David showed with Jamie! Jamie won the I came from furthest away award since he drove all the way from snowy New York. I was honestly and deeply touched. The next day my sister came too. It was really the best birthday present ever. I understand that Meghan had been planning it for months. I still can't get over it. I thank everyone!

Jamie left just yesterday and we had a chance to sit down andn do some recording, something we'd not done together since the early years of college. David posted some photos of the party. To see them, go here. I don't want to sound sappy, but I really will always remember that weekend. You all were great.
